A good friend told me my blog had been hacked because of this photo by a noted photographer. When I explained it was there by my choice the reply was, get rid of it someone may see it.

The Blog - Get Censored?

First I think this blog should be fun, educational, honest and with very limited inadvertent sarcasm, thus Friday Showing will not stop publishing if any internet powers want to censor it.

I am ever curious about the media, art, the sexes and censorship, I like all except the last thing. I am undertaking a project, started with the photos - A Side Boob Update, to see from where and when censorship may rise its ugly head. ​

The humble Friday Showings is not interested in showing pictures of sexual activity, the internet does a fine job of this already catering to all tastes.

The pictures showing nudes very much resisted in the states (United) or suggesting nudity, like almost all advertising are not a matter of concern here except as a recognition of beauty as in art. Here is where the muddy waters should be cleared up. The judgment of beauty, art and advertising belongs in the eye of the beholder and not for any sight police to control. Certainly such matters are reflected in cultures each with a somewhat unique viewpoint.

I plan to regulate disappointment or anger about censorship intruding in our lives, in this blog by showing stuff I find interesting, and letting my own tastes hang out here for all to see, and - also watch for signs of censorship or thought control from the outside.

Judging from my years of experience facebook I wouldn’t be surprised if censorship will be found and it is arbitrary and very decisive. My hope is that over time we can enjoy the graphic images of nudes with no worry.

I also hope that by pushing limits you might say by degrees, that I may be able to continue publishing when one item seems too much to someone in internet authority, allowing me to promise to be more respectful of their tastes in the future and not simply be kicked off the website, lose all my work and have a dishonorable discharge.

Can it be that the nipple is the dividing line for the unacceptable? Right up to the nipple or some other body part or position perhaps being OK but revealing the bump at the end of breast could get one on the poo poo list?

It would be rather like allowing the photos of mountains but never showing the snow capped tops. Now you know, unlike the mainstream media, I will push some limits perhaps or perhaps not and learn something or teach something about our community values.
